I facilitate personal and group solutions using my skills in environment enhancement techniques, behavioural and co-operative management, as well as interpersonal communication.

EXPERIENCE

REIKI TRAINING AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, International
1994 to 2011

Provide training, consultation and support to individual clients in the area of personal development and stress management. This is internationally based, and uses my web site as part of the education and support mechanism. Also organise and participate in international conferences with past experience in Vancouver and Toronto (organised) and Madrid and Kyoto (as a presenter).

1989 to 1990

An international group of 30 office equipment dealers with total sales in excess of $600 million. The Systems Development and Support Division for the group was located at Benndorf Verster Ltd. (now Ikon) in Vancouver; used IBM AS/400 and PC workstations for system design and development

Manager, Product Development

  • Reported to the General Manager of the Division
  • Responsibilities
  • Hired and managed a development team responsible for the consolidation and re-design of the group's existing software 
  • Selected a Computer Assisted Application Generator (CASE tool, called SYNON) to improve the development process 
  • Researched existing Alco applications at several office locations; directed system design specs for the proposed new software; interfaced with senior and middle management during the project 
  • YORKSHIRE TRUST COMPANY, Vancouver, B.C. 
    1982 to 1988

    A western based financial institution with assets in excess of $560 million (purchased in 1988 by Central Guaranty Trust). The data centre (IBM System 38) served head office and 10 branch locations.

    Responsibilities
  • Member of the Senior Management Information Services Planning Committee
  • Member of parent company Laurentian Group Information Services Technology Committee (requiring bi-monthly involvement at Laurentian head office)
  • Directed the activities of a staff of 14 (system development and operations)
  • Planned and budgeted department activities; negotiated outside sales of in-house developed software; provided input to marketing and product development areas of the company
  • MCDONALD SUPPLY LTD., Vancouver, B.C. 
    1979 to 1982

    Western-based appliance distributor and retailer of kitchen appliances, lighting, and carpeting, with sales over $50 million. The data centre (IBM System 34) served head office and 3 regional offices.
