This blog
is one
of a series
where I give my ideas on aspects of Reiki and/or energy work. The pages
are intended to give some "food for thought" and some are only my
viewpoint. While a number of facts may be included, you should decide
for yourself how much (if any) of the content feels right to you.
The New Year is a time
in many cultures when plans are laid out for the coming year for the purpose of
improving or bettering oneself. Or maybe it's just that we might need a
change of focus or experience.
I've decided to add to my
own daily explorations by representing wellness products as a Shaklee
distributor. They are well known in the Green community for their
cleaning and cleanliness products, having been around since the 1950's.
And they have achieved some kind of landmark status with their Vitalizer
wellness product and its effect on those using it. Yet I was surprised to
discover my own doctor's feeling about what he calls "off the shelf supplements."
He doesn't trust these companies and their sources as they are not listed in
his medical database. So it seems there needs to be more work done on the
part of our new wellness scientists in interacting with our allopathic medical
base. Plus, supplements are big in the news these days as the governments
and certain companies try to downplay their importance and effectiveness.
That's usually an indication that many of us are looking for alternative
solutions.
Pretty much the same
happened in the Reiki and alternative therapy movement a decade or so
ago. But now more and more legislation in some areas is coming into being
to try get a handle on some of these methods. That's pretty much an
indication that they have been caught up in the mainstream and that the
governments are having to accept the fact they are now part of everyday
life. There is even a push for the legalization of cannabis. In
Canada our own government has finally seen the possible tax base and has begun
to take over the growing and selling of medical marijuana. Those who had
been allowed to do this for their own medical needs are now been legislated
out. Yet 2 of the northern American states are legalizing this substance.
I can see that coming elections are going to cause some widespread changes, in
many areas of our lives.
My own thought is to present
an additional aspect of wellness to my student base and those who are
interested in an alternative approach. Most healers know that combing
methods, even those of traditional medicine and doctors, is a proven course of
assistance for the unwell and the maintenance of wellness. As a Reiki
person I have long since used this and other healing energies on my food,
plants, animals, not to mention my family and friends, plus focusing them in
certain areas of the city and country - all of which can be achieved in person
or distant-wise. So I feel the same can be done for the products we
present to others, and to our own customer base. This can be as easy as using a
crystal grid or a Reiki box or something similar in order to give a daily focus
and boost to the growing number of people you are working with and for, and to
the products being shipped that you represent. And anyway, I have done
this for almost 2 decades just for my student base alone.
And I've actually seen
this done by students of mine, even to the point where more harmony is achieved
in the work place, or a sudden surge of customers has made a aromatherapy
shop's business extremely successful. In that latter case a few of us
assisted by using methods I describe in my" Light Technique for
Healing" article. And of course the added benefit to this kind of
daily focus is that you get to experience all the energies you are
transmitting. The usually double "whammy" of energy work.
I don't know how all this will play out, but
then I didn't know in advance anything like that about my adventures into
Reiki and energy work (when Reiki was just picking up steam), or my previous
office career (when computers were new), or my awakening to raising my own
family (there weren't many guidebooks on this then.) Somehow those all
turned out to be very interesting choices. I can only intend, and visualize,
that this new focus in my life will also be as fruitful and interesting for me.
